How Do Dental Implants Work?
A dental implant consists of two main parts — the implant post and the implant restoration. The dental implant post is a small screw, usually made of titanium or other biocompatible material, that is surgically placed into your jawbone at the site of the missing tooth.
The implant post replaces your tooth root and performs the same functions in order to improve the health of your supporting bone and provide a stable foundation for your restoration.
After you have healed from your implant placement surgery, our dentist will work with you to create and place your implant restoration.
Your restoration may be a crown, bridge or denture, depending on your individual needs and how many teeth are missing. The restoration is custom-designed to fit your smile comfortably and aesthetically and provide you with a long-term solution for your smile.
