  • Keep denture(s) in the mouth for the first 24 hours.
  • After every meal, remove denture(s), brush and rinse gently with warm salt water or Peridex, then place denture(s) back in the mouth.
  • Keep denture(s) in at night for 2 weeks.
  • After 2 weeks, take denture(s) out, brush, and soak in denture cleaner.

The new material on your denture is a temporary tissue conditioning treatment liner. Do not scrub the liner with anything for the first three days. It is very stick and could gum up pull away from the denture.

After the first three days, you can gently use a soft bristle toothbrush to clean, only if necessary. It is preferred that you only rinse the denture with regular tap water.

Do not use Efferdent tables on liner. It will make the liner bubble up and need to redone.

Directions for use:

  • Brush teeth before inserting trays.
  • Place a dot of bleach gel inside front of tray.
  • Wear for 2-4 hours.
  • Remove excess gel with 2×2 gauze provided.
  • Clean tray with soft brush and cool tap water.

Bleaching Precautions:

  • Do not use tobacco products or eat while bleaching.
  • Teeth are naturally darker along the gum line. These areas may require more time to lighten than the rest of the tooth surface and usually remain slightly darker.
  • White spots on the enamel or that appear during bleaching may blend during continued bleaching process.

General Precautions:

  • A small percentage of patients experience sensitivity with bleaching. Should this occur, remove tray wit for sensitivity to stop for 1 to 2 days. Try a flouride rinse before and after bleaching or use less time with trays in.
  • Fods and juices high citric acid can cause sensitivity to the teeth.
  • Some patients have noticed temporary discomfort to the gums, lips, throat, or tongue. The side effects will usually subside within 1-3 days after treatment is discontinued.
  • Coffe, tobacco, and other products can re-stain your teeth over time. Should this occur, the teeth can be re-whitened whitin a few nights using Opalescence.
  • Regular dental checkups and cleanings are importante before and after bleaching to maintain a healthy smile.
  • Crowns, bridges, partial dentures, veneers, and composite fillings will not bleach.
  • Store bleach out of the sun and heat. Refrigeration recommended. Do not freeze.
  • Keep opalescence out of reach of small children.
  • Do not swallow gel or rinsed gel.
